RFP WRITERS/ INVESTMENT WRITERS, TO£60,000 PLUS EXCELLENT BENS, GLOBAL INVESTMENT HOUSE, LONDON W1

Our Client, a Global Investment House are seeking either an experienced Institutional Investment Writer or a competent RFP Writer to provide a high quality investment writing service to Institutional Sales, Service, Marketing and Product (SSMP) team. The role includes responsibility for production of regular month and quarter end client reporting requirements as well as some conceptional and thought leadership writing requirements aimed at positioning and promoting the specialist investment capabilities of the Company’s investment businesses including Alternative Investments.  To build proactive relationships and be a point of reference as technical  specialist for the core product lines identified by the Head of Institutional Business as having the broadest appeal across key institutional distribution channels and to provide channel marketing cover and support as required by the Senior Manager, Institutional Marketing.

This role really does require excellent writing skills as the split will be 70% writing /30% Marketing together with the tenacity and confidence to follow tasks through and build effective business relationships across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Institutional reporting / conceptual writing

  • To assist the institutional SSMP (Sales, Service, Marketing and Product) business in the production of investment writing targeted at clients ranging from consultants to local authorities and charities.
  • To organise and implement to deadlines and to a suitable quality the regular report writing schedule/s for the institutional business and review and manage the required sign-off for all external communications produced for use in client facing situations.
  • To help improve the content and quality of all investment marketing materials for the institutional business in conjunction with the Institutional Marketers.
  • To provide support as required for the conceptual investment writing requirements of the institutional business to produce innovative, thought leadership, positioning editorial to demonstrate and promote the Company’s specialist investment capabilities and experience.

Technical specialism

  • To act as a point of reference for product and investment specialists internally, within other Group entities and of third parties with regard to the production of written materials for the core product lines as identified by the Head of Institutional business as having the broadest appeal across key institutional distribution channels. 
  • To assist with other external sales, and marketing activities relating to product information, investment view and thought leadership on behalf of the Institutional business including media relations as required. 
  • To act as a champion for change internally, raising the profile of the Company’s investment businesses investment solutions and expertise in the UK, both locally and to other offices globally, to colleagues in similar roles in other locations.

Channel marketing

  • To support the Institutional Marketing team when required in the delivery of innovative and distinctive marketing activity / campaigns and tailored marketing support.
  • To engage in any other activities deemed suitable by the Head of Institutional and as agreed with the Institutional team. 

Skills:

  • Absolute minimum IMC qualified (further professional investment qualifications preferred)
  • Previous relevant RFP/Institutional Investment Writing
  • Robust knowledge of asset/investment management industry products and processes and ability to map
  • Considerable experience in an institutional context and experience of institutional client groups from a business development, sales and marketing perspective
  • Demonstrate experience to deliver a quality product to challenging deadlines
  • The ability to prioritise and organise effectively  with extremely strong communication skills
  • Ability to deal with Fund Managers/Senior management at all levels
  • Ability to manipulate investment databases and performance software (Micropal, Datastream, Lipper, IMS, IKON, Excel etc)
  • Ability to support other priorities within the institutional business outside of primary role.
