HEAD OF INSTITUTIONAL MARKETING, ASSET MANAGEMENT, C£90,000 PLUS EXCELLENT PACKAGE, LONDON W1

The purpose of the role is to lead a team responsible for the implementation of a marketing and communications strategy for the UK Institutional business. Reporting into the MD Institutional and Global Head of Institutional Marketing and you will have a team of direct reports which includes Channel Managers, Investment Writers and RFP Writers.
Responsibilities:
The role has responsibility to lead the UK Institutional Marketing team, maximising business development opportunities
- Marketing and Communication Strategy – implement the local institutional marketing strategy as developed and agreed with the Managing Director, Institutional and UK Head of Sales and coordinating with the Global Head of Institutional Marketing.
- Planning and Budget Management – implement the specific marketing & communications plan aligned to business needs and manage the marketing budget within the overall budget.
- Team Management – lead and manage the team, in a professional and effective manner. Ensure training and development needs are met.
- Market/Customer Understanding – Ensure the team maintains a strong understanding of the needs of the marketplace by working closely and proactively with the Executives in charge of sales and client service
- Technical Understanding - Ensure the team maintains a strong understanding of products etc. by working closely with the manufacturing entities. Specialisation is encouraged.
- RFP Production - Ensure timely response and high quality submissions. Manage priorities with the Head of Sales.
- Data Management – Develop and maintain a central repository for marketing and analytic materials for key products. Maintain consultant Databases to a high standard.
- Marketing/Comms Materials – Develop and maintain an effective range of materials to support the needs of the Institutional market demonstrating a technical understanding of products and the UK marketplace. Produce high quality client presentations and fact sheets as required, in a timely fashion. Emphasis on value added support of business development.
- Event Coordination: Instruct the Events team to effectively create and deliver marketing events and other business development/client service entertainment functions.
- Resource Management – ensure that the Institutional team receives its agreed upon share of “Shared Services” resources (i.e. DTP, Events, etc.)
- Supplier management – Manage relationships and budgets relating to external (Group and non-Group) marketing communications service providers, with clear service-level agreements in place.
- Conformity with policies and guidelines – Ensure adherence of all communications with Group and Company guidelines and standards and make proposals for changing policies and guidelines where appropriate to enhance communications or streamline processes.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive Marketing management experience
- In-depth knowledge of marketing processes (GIPs, consultant databases, RFPs, collateral production, data management)
- In-depth knowledge of investment products; industry (regulations)
- Excellent communication skills - written and oral
- Ability to work in deadline oriented environment; detailed oriented
- Preferred: experience in building marketing teams
