CORPORATE ACTIONS INCOME ANALYST, ASSET MANAGEMENT, TO £40,000 PLUS EXCELLENT BENS, CITY

Our client a global market leader is seeking an experienced Corporate Actions/Income Analyst to join their expanding team.  The Corporate Action Team in Europe provide support to all of the Investment Groups, ensuring complete control over Corporate Action activity from the point of event capture and cleansing, through to decision capture and entitlement generation, with the team being pivotal in controlling the execution of decisions at the custodian and providing the investment teams accurate and timely positions to make trading decisions on.

In addition to a focus on supporting both Long only and Long/Short strategies, the team are also required to support a healthy securities lending business that is growing both in volumes and complexity.

As the industry experiences significant growth in Corporate Activity and the Company continue to look to innovate in Product space, the Corporate Action team are required to respond to ever more challenging requirements making this an area of continued change.

Responsibilities;

The Income Team in Europe provide support to the Company’s Investment Groups, ensuring complete control over Income activity from the point of event capture/cleansing and the timely reclaiming of Manufactured Income.

  • Working as part of a Global team, responsible for the collation and creation of Income Event information on set of countries/issues that are assigned to in a timely manner
  • To perform Securities Lending dividend claims as assigned to and ensure clearance of items within the set timeline according to the set target
  • Strict adherence to deadlines both internal and external
  • Participate in a regular review and document procedures around the team processes and ensure they are strictly followed
  • Be aware of control/risk issues around the areas of business responsibility and strictly follow company escalation procedures
  • To perform regular reporting/control functions as assigned
  • To make sure any queries, discrepancies and reconciliation issues related to areas of responsibility are dealt with within the set timeline according to set target
  • Actively gaining relevant market knowledge in relation to Income and Manufactured Income
  • Ensure positive/professional attitude when dealing with internal and external contacts
  • Bring forward new ideas for streamlining/enhancing existing procedures
  • To understand impact of Income on other areas of Business and vice versa
  • To be fully conversant with all in-house systems and other relevant Microsoft packages
  • Have a flexible attitude to ensure business objectives are met
  • Involved in Product Development and other strategic initiatives that impact the team as and when assigned
  • Contribute to monthly team and One-to-One meeting discussions
  • Lead or participate in regular custodian, broker and internal relationship meeting on behalf of the team
  • Responsible for ensuring that all tasks are undertaken to meet the requirements of the regulatory regime as applicable

Skills/Experience

  • Relevant experience of processing Income events and Manufactured Income reclaims within Investment Management or Investment Banking areas
  • Possess a good understanding of data vendor systems such as Bloomberg, and FTS
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Conscientious with good attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of a wide range of instrument types
  • Strong risk and control focus
  • High level of self motivation - energetic and self starter
  • Ability to communicate constructively with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to work well as part of the team or independently
