Job Description
The successful candidate will enter the Sales department as a trainee this does not mean that this is a role which requires no previous experience and successful applicants will usually have had a proven track record as both a Sales Person and Relationship Manager within the financial sector and have an in-depth knowledge of the markets coupled with the ability to provide credible, confident recommendations to a very high profile client base. Candidates will be entrepreneurial, driven and very focussed with proven financial acumen and the ability to learn and process complex data and deliver information effectively and with presence, in addition to excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.
The training period for this role will be rigorous and extremely demanding and each new Salesperson will be assigned to a senior salesperson during the training process. Responsibilities include developing a complete knowledge of the research product, sales process, and trading. Additionally heavy emphasis is placed on the development and evaluation of sales skills.
The salesperson will work with the firm's Research department to have an understanding of the analysis performed on companies, industries and Global stock markets regarding all research recommendations and articulate them in a timely manner to the firm's client base which consists of mutual funds, pension’s funds, hedge funds and other institutional investors. This is accomplished through phone contact and client visits accompanied by members of the research staff.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven success within a financial sales environment and a continued focussed desire for a career in sales together with general knowledge of financial and strategic analysis
- 1 st Class (min 2:1) degree from a leading university
- Entrepreneurial and driven with ability to succeed in an unstructured environment
- Have demonstrated a clear record of achievement, both from experience and academically with the emphasis on leadership
- Tenacity, intelligence with excellent communication skills and drive with the desire to work in a highly competitive environment, with commensurate opportunity for reward
