Job Qualifications
The Research Associates they seek typically have track records of outstanding professional performance, excellent analytical and financial skills (practical knowledge of financial statement analysis and modelling are important for these positions), relentless intellectual curiosity and a drive to excel at the highest level together with stellar intellectual and academic credentials, including honours and awards, and test scores and grades in the 90th percentile and above (minimum of 360 UCAS points and a 2.1 or higher). Consummate team players who seek a highly rigorous and challenging environment for their career development are essential.
Candidates for Research Associate positions typically have MBAs from top business schools, advanced degrees in finance or engineering, or credentials such as the CFA and ACA.

Research Associates contribute to the content and distribution of our acclaimed and highly differentiated research product at all levels:
- Conducting in-depth analysis of the industry and publicly-traded companies in the sector
- Building and maintaining detailed financial models including forecasts
- Drafting and writing research reports
- Helping formulate investment opinions
- Interacting with company Management, Sales and Trading and Institutional client base
The Person
- The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years’ experience working in Corporate Finance or Equity Research in a leading Investment Bank.
- First class financial modelling and accounting skills, allowing the candidate to work independently on valuation and modelling future earnings.
- First class data presentation skills (in Excel, Word templates and PowerPoint) and the ability to write perfect, factual but compelling analysis.
- Experience of a manufacturing sector (Capital Goods, Aerospace, Steel, Autos etc) and potentially German language skills - but these are not pre-requisites if other skills are evident.
- Drive, competitive instinct and a willingness to go the extra mile are all essential attributes as is someone who can be relied upon to bring original and constructive ideas to the team.
Participation in the CFA program is encouraged. FSA will be required.
Emphasis will be on core cognitive abilities in the recruiting process and interviews will include problem-solving questions.
