ASSOC PORTFOLIO MANAGER, GLOBAL ASSET MANAGERS, UP TO £50,000 PLUS BENS, LONDON W1
Our client a major Global Asset Managers have an opportunity for a degree educated candidate with relevant experience of working in a similar team and solid investment knowledge to join them as an Associate Portfolio Manager. As part of their Portfolio Management Group which oversees the portfolio management and servicing of accounts that invest in all equity investment strategies and consists of a team of people globally in New York, London, Sydney and Tokyo.
The Role
Responsibility for maintaining a base of existing Growth, Value and Blend accounts and opening new accounts;
- Implementing daily equity, futures, and currency spot and forward trades for both local and global accounts
- Liaise with other departments internally, especially the separate investment discipline teams, Senior Portfolio Managers, Legal/Compliance, Sales/Marketing and Investment Operations
- Review, negotiate and approve client guidelines
- Manage/oversee transition of portfolios for strategy or asset mix changes
- Monitor account asset allocations, rebalancing when necessary
- Monitor currency hedging and spot positions in all accounts
- Allocate and raise/spend cash flows for all accounts
- Implement client requests and respond to client queries
- Use various computerized tools, including portfolio optimization techniques for managing Global Value equity products and currency overlays
- Provide portfolio summary information to management as requested
- Undertake ad hoc requests and assist with projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to degree level ideally Maths, Economics, Finance related subjects
- Previous similar experience
- Possess strong computer skills.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Team-orientated, proactive, enthusiastic and self motivated with a “can do” attitude and flexible manner
- Ability to solve problems and work well under pressure
- Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
