SETTLEMENT SERVICES TEAM LEADER - OPERATIONS, GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT TO £52,000 PLUS EXCELLENT BENS, LONDON W1                             

Our client, a major Global Asset Management company are currently seeking a Settlement Services Team Leader within their Operations team to be responsible for supervising the Settlements team across all activities and reporting into the AVP, Assistant Manager European Broker Dealer Operations.

The Role
Responsible for supervising the Settlements team to ensure all of the following tasks are completed in a timely manner:

  • Pre-matching and settlement of both Client & Market Side Transactions, Equities & FX
    - Fails Management
    - Funding
    - Corporate Action Processing
    - Claims Management – Interest & Dividend
    - Segregation of Client Money
    - Determine, request and book Stock Loans and fails Coverage New loans and Returns
    - Monitoring and query investigation of outsourced cash and stock reconciliations
  • STP Monitored and Actioned Daily
  • Responsible for verifying General Ledger Reconciliation received from Accounting, investigate and resolve any discrepancies immediately
  • Responsible for compiling and reporting Settlement Statistics to Senior Management
  • Responsible for verifying the accuracy of all Settlements tasks and sign off end of day checklist for Settlements team
  • Responsible for enhancing Settlement operational procedures with an aim to STP, operating efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Responsible for completion and maintenance of Settlement written procedures. Ensuring all Settlement staff are fully trained and all procedures are followed
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients, brokers, clearing agents & all internal departments
  • Ensure correct level of coverage is available at all times
  • Create a good team working environment

Knowledge and Experience

  • Solid experience specific to securities settlement including working within a supervisory capacity
  • Good team management and supervisory skills
  • Proactive organisation, development and change management skills
  • Strong understanding of systems and PC skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills together with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
